Machine learning is a subject that seems to be cropping up more and more these days - so if you're of a vaguely technical mind, why wouldn't you want to know more about it?

Tariq has written an excellent introduction to neural networks which takes you seamlessly from first principles through to a fully functional neural network with advanced optimisation techniques.
